About the artist

Solveig Holm is an Icelandic artist whose work traverses painting, mixed media and ceramics. She draws on Icelandic folklore, nature and personal narrative to conjure playful, other worldly figures and richly textured surfaces.
Educated at the Reykjavík School of Visual Arts and Escola Massana in Barcelona, she apprenticed with ceramic artist Kolbrún Björgólfsdóttir (Kogga) from 1991 to 1996. Today, her practice leans into painting's immediacy while preserving the tactile curiosity of clay.
